This is an outstanding opportunity for current Teaching Assistants and any aspiring Teaching Assistants with passion and drive to make a difference for pupils and young people with SEN. Experience working within SEN is desirable but not essential as all training will be provided and subsidised.

The Russett School & The Russett Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Child safer recruitment procedures operate and all offers of employment are subject to references and an Enhanced DBS check for all applicants.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are ‘spent’ unless ‘protected’ under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

Starting Salary: £17,068.76 with the opportunity to work an additional 5 INSET days.

Location: The Russett School, Middlehurst Avenue, Weaverham, Northwich, Cheshire CW8 3BW.

Contract: Temporary (12 months) leading to opportunity for permanent following successful probation period

Work Pattern: Part Time/Term Time 38 weeks per year.

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 8.40am to 3.40pm. Working hours on a Friday are 8.30am to 3.30pm, An optional extra hour per week is offered on a Tuesday evening until 4.40pm for staff training.

DBS Check: Enhanced

Closing Date: Tuesday 2nd January 2024 at 12.00pm

Short Listing will take place on Wednesday 3rd January 2024

Interviews will be held on Thursday 11th January 2024
